The group and the institutional report

Escuela 154 is an elementary public school located in Frutillar, a low-income neighborhood in San Carlos de Bariloche.
408 students are attending the school this year. There are nine groups from 1st to 6th grades in the morning and eight in the afternoon. There are two 7th grade groups which are in the school full time, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on Fridays.
The teachers are Cristina Duran and Natalia Reggio. The students rotate between one group and the other, so my practicum involves both groups.

My philosophy of teaching is that all students are unique and must have a stimulating education environment. That way, they will be able to develop not just language abilities, but physical, mental, emotion and social ones.  I believe that a good atmosphere for learning should follow these statements: the teacher is a guide, activities must be challenging and fun and students must be encouraged to be curious and innovative.  One of the roles a teacher has is to act as a guide. My goal is to be a good guide to my students. This is why bringing activities that stimulate their multiple intelligences is so important.
